Abstract

The Sales Performance Trend Analysis and Regional Revenue Decomposition Using Python project presents the design and implementation of an intelligent data analytics system that analyzes historical sales data to identify performance trends, evaluate regional contributions, and generate meaningful business insights. In the modern competitive business environment, organizations generate large volumes of sales data from multiple regions, products, and customer segments. Analyzing this data plays a crucial role in understanding market behavior, improving sales strategies, optimizing resource allocation, and supporting effective decision-making. Traditional sales analysis methods often depend on manual reporting and basic statistical techniques, which are time-consuming and less efficient for handling large and complex datasets. The primary objective of this project is to analyze sales performance trends over time and decompose overall revenue into regional components to understand the contribution of different geographic areas. The system utilizes historical sales datasets containing information such as sales transactions, revenue values, product categories, customer details, regional sales records, seasonal patterns, and business performance indicators. Data preprocessing techniques including handling missing values, removing duplicates, normalization, data transformation, and feature engineering are applied to improve data quality and analytical accuracy. Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) techniques are implemented to discover hidden patterns, relationships, and trends within the sales dataset. Time-series analysis methods are applied to evaluate sales growth, seasonal variations, revenue fluctuations, and long-term performance changes. Regional revenue decomposition is performed to break down total revenue based on different locations, helping organizations identify high-performing regions and areas requiring improvement. These insights allow businesses to optimize sales planning, marketing strategies, and operational decisions.
