The rapid growth of digital technologies, cloud computing, mobile devices, and interconnected networks has significantly transformed the modern world. While these technological advancements have improved communication, business operations, and access to information, they have also increased the number and complexity of cyber threats. Cybercriminals continuously develop sophisticated attack techniques that challenge traditional cybersecurity systems. Conventional security approaches, which primarily depend on predefined rules and signature-based detection methods, often struggle to identify emerging and previously unknown threats. As a result, organizations require more intelligent and adaptive security solutions to protect their digital assets and sensitive information. Artificial Intelligence (AI) has emerged as a powerful technology capable of enhancing cybersecurity through automation, predictive analysis, and real-time threat detection. AI systems can process large volumes of data, recognize complex patterns, identify anomalies, and support rapid decision-making. Technologies such as Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and Natural Language Processing enable cybersecurity systems to detect malicious activities, prevent cyberattacks, and improve incident response capabilities. AIdriven security solutions are increasingly being adopted across industries to strengthen defences against evolving cyber threats. This paper examines the role of Artificial Intelligence in modern cybersecurity, discusses its applications and benefits, explores associated challenges, and highlights future developments that are expected to shape the cybersecurity landscape.
