Attendance management is a crucial aspect of academic institutions, often affecting student performance monitoring and administrative record keeping. Traditional manual approaches are time-consuming, error-prone, and susceptible to proxy attendance. To overcome these limitations, this paper proposes ClassQR, a smart and contactless attendance system that leverages Quick Response (QR) codes and mobile technologies to automate the process. Each student is provided with a unique QR code that can be scanned by the instructor or a centralized system for authentication and verification. The system ensures fast, reliable, and secure attendance recording, reduces human intervention, and eliminates fraudulent practices. By integrating QR code scanning with a centralized database, ClassQR demonstrates high efficiency, scalability, and adaptability to hybrid and online learning environments. Experimental results show that the proposed solution significantly reduces the time required to mark attendance while ensuring data integrity and real-time synchronization
