Abstract

Cloud computing has become a revolutionary technological framework that fundamentally transforms how businesses deploy, operate, and expand their IT systems. This research provides an in-depth examination of cloud computing adoption trends, performance indicators, and security obstacles within corporate settings through 2019. Employing a mixed-methods methodology that integrates quantitative surveys from 500 enterprise IT leaders with qualitative discussions involving 25 cloud specialists, this study investigates the motivations behind cloud implementation, performance standards across various service categories, and ongoing security issues. The quantitative findings show that 78% of businesses have implemented hybrid cloud approaches, with expense reduction (65%) and flexibility (58%) serving as key motivators. Performance evaluation indicates that Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) platforms deliver 99.9% average availability, while Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solutions demonstrate 15% quicker deployment periods compared to conventional on-site systems. Security continues to be the primary concern for 42% of organizations, especially concerning data protection and regulatory adherence. The results suggest that although cloud computing delivers substantial operational and financial advantages, effective implementation demands thoughtful attention to security protocols, provider evaluation, and hybrid deployment approaches. This study advances knowledge of cloud computing development in corporate contexts and offers guidance for organizations strategizing cloud transition initiatives.
